When we started EnviroProz in 2002, we had the simple notion that it was possible to provide high quality environmental inspection services, at fair and affordable pricing. We saw a need for a third party, non-biased company to provide clients with honest assessments, without the opportunity for monetary gain by also performing the removal services.

Our mission is to help those that are being affected by environmental problems within their home and workplaces.

In my personal experience with this, I had a daughter born in the mid 1990’s that was diagnosed with asthma at a very young age. It turned out that our home had mold in the basement and this was exacerbating the problem. At the time, there was very little information connecting the two, but fortunately we had a great doctor that questioned us about mold in the environment.  Needless to say, we fixed the problem and this event initiated my passion for indoor environmental issues and starting EnviroProz Inc.

In the early years, I discovered that many companies were getting into mold removal and inspection, but most of them were doing it incorrectly. In the mid 2000’s a common expression for these companies was “mold is gold”. Waterproofing companies, cleaning companies,and duct service companies were all jumping on the bandwagon.

I witnessed many people getting overcharged, incorrectly diagnosed, homes getting destroyed, companies using scare tactics, and people basically being taken advantage of; and often still having the problem or having the problem return.

In recent years there has been legislative action taken by many states to establish standards and licensing that prevent these unprofessional practices but it unfortunately still has a long way to go. While states like New York, Florida, and Louisiana, have stringent licensing that prevents these business tactics, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware are still far behind. Many companies continue to take advantage of the legal loopholes in these states.
